California Philharmonic Supports Our Veterans!

Please join the California Philharmonic in supporting the New Directions for Veterans by attending the one-act original play “Shadowcaster"

April 6th, 8pm

Brentwood School,
100 S. Barrington Place,
Los Angeles, CA 90049

California Philharmonic is teaming up with New Directions for Veterans and the Imagination Workshop, for a one-of-a-kind performance. Imagination Workshop, an art therapy program under the auspices of UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience utilizes theater improvisation for expression and healing. Together the artist leaders of Imagination Workshop and the directors from New Directions, a live-in program for dual-diagnosis veterans have guided program participants to write an original one-act play which they will perform at the Brentwood School on April 6th, 2019.

California Philharmonic are privileged to have the opportunity of providing musical accompaniment for the Imagination Workshop’s production. A couple of star players from the orchestra will be part of this great cause. Christina Linhardt orchestra staff writer is our key lead for this project. Christina has been working for the Imagination Workshop for 15 years, 12 of those at the Veterans Hospital. She has witnessed tremendous growth and healing among veterans who have participated in the workshop in her time. Most participating Vets will tell you that through playing other characters, they don’t have to be their past, their trauma, or their PTSD and can envision a brighter future for themselves.

Please join us with California Philharmonic in supporting the Veterans by attending the one-act original play “Shadowcaster"!
