The Memory-Making Concert Also Features Multi-Talented Actress, Singer, and Dancer Alyson Stoner In A Self-Choreographed One-Of-A-Kind Performance

Hailed as a “Master of his instrument” by many acclaimed critics including Winthrop Sargeant of The New Yorker and Harold Schonberg, also of The New York Times, award-winning saxophonist Harvey Pittel joins Cal Phil Orchestra as a special guest during “Symphonic Dances”, the world-class orchestra’s third concert of the 2018 Summer Season on Sunday, July 29th.
America’s foremost classical saxophonist, Pittel is most looking forward to performing “Escapades for Saxophone and Orchestra” by John Williams and “Oodles of Noodles” by Jimmy Dorsey.
“If you're nearby,” Pittel recently noted on his Facebook page, “I'd be honored to have you at the concert.”
It will be, as always, an honor for the audience as well, as they revel in the experience of listening to Pittel playing his saxophone live!
As a soloist, Pittel has performed with such esteemed organizations as The New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics as well as with a long list of notable symphonies in Boston, Baltimore, and Seattle, among others.
His remarkable career has also included recording both as a soloist and with ensembles including his own, “Harvey Pittel Trio and Saxophone Quartet” as well as on numerous soundtracks.
Actress, singer, and dancer, Alyson Stoner, will also deliver a history-making performance with an entourage of dancers during her debut with Cal Phil Orchestra as she performs her “street style” dance to Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring”; beautifully blending the old with the new, classical music with modern dance.
